Simulation
- Training runs on a Laerdal SimMan 3G patient simulator — programmable physiology that responds to what the resident actually does
- Most simulation programs run from a catalogue: a fixed shelf of scenarios written years ago for someone else’s residents
- We author our own, using artificial-intelligence tooling developed inside the department
- That means a scenario can be written for the gap in front of us — this resident, this competency, this month
- If a class is hesitant with the hypotensive patient after induction, or has not yet had to recognize a failing right ventricle, we build that case and run it
It is the difference between a library that lends you what it happens to own and one that will write the book you need.
Fiberoptic workshop
Flexible scope technique taught in small groups, with faculty who use it daily.
Advanced airway workshop
Video laryngoscopy, supraglottic devices and the difficult airway algorithm — extending to jet ventilation, Arndt endobronchial blockers, bronchial blockers and lung isolation technique.
Ultrasound workshop
Vascular access, regional anesthesia blocks, and point-of-care examination of the lung, heart and abdomen.
