Emergency Medicine Residency Program

The Emergency Medicine Residency at South Brooklyn Healthis an ACGME- accredited four-year program that trains residents to provide exceptional acute care to the community of Southern Brooklyn. Residents train primarily atSouth Brooklyn Health Hospital, a 371-bed community hospital with a diverse patient population, wide spectrum of pathology, and close-knit residency family. Our program is closely affiliated with multiple sites across New York City including King’s County Hospital (Level 1 Trauma Center), Harlem Hospital (Level 1 Trauma Center), Jacobi Medical Center (Level 1 Trauma Center), and New York Poison Control Center. It is the goal of this program to create a physician who is a patient advocate and a physician who wants to drive continuous changes in the practice of Emergency Medicine for the betterment of all they serve.

  • Substance Use Disorder support staff
  • Faculty trained in US, EMS, Pain Management, Addiction Medicine, Simulation
  • Rotations throughout NYC including EMS with FDNY, Toxicology at the NYCPCC, Trauma, PEM, & more
  • ACGME Fellowship in Addiction Medicine
  • Designated Stroke Center
  • Specialty support including Cardiology, Surgery, OB/GYN, Podiatry, Dentistry, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Urology, Nephrology, & Critical Care
  • State of the art equipment including (4) US machines, Glidescopes, McGrath Video Laryngoscopes, i-stat POC testing, LUCAS Robust simulation capabilities
  • Diversity in patients, providers, & pathology
