The NYC Health + Hospitals simulation Center is disseminating simulation education to the entire Healthcare System. It has been shown in the literature that simulation is most effective when scenarios are followed by expert debriefing.
This one-day immersive debriefing course based on the Center for Medical Simulation (CMS) Simulation Instructor Training curriculum is a customized “just-in-time” training on the skills of debriefing.

NOTE: The ideal participant is an individual who has interest and the availability to conduct debriefing sessions aimed to improve clinical outcomes, create a culture change, and improve processes.
6 minimum to 10 maximum
Observe any of The simulation center’s core course delivery within 15 days of course completion
Co-debrief in at least one guided session of any simulation course within 30 days of course completion
Lead the debrief in at least one session of any simulation course within 45 days of course completion
NOTE: Minimum time investment required to effectively prepare a participant to lead a debriefing session independently: 15 Hours
