Pharmacy Residency Eligibility Requirements

Applicants to our PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program must possess or be scheduled to receive a PharmD degree from an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited college or school of pharmacy with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and be licensed or eligible for licensure in New York State. Applicants must possess a New York State Pharmacy Intern Permit prior to starting the residency if they are not already licensed.

Pharmacy Residency Application Process

We offer two PGY-1 positions per year. You must apply through the Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application Service (PhORCAS: https://phorcas.liaisoncas.com/applicant/) and participate in the ASHP Resident Matching Service. The resident matching program code is 316913.

Applicants must submit the following application materials through PhORCAS by Friday, January 2nd, 2026:

  • Official college transcripts
  • Curriculum vitae (CV)
  • Three professional references submitted through the reference form in PhORCAS
  • Letter of intent that describes goals, interests, and motivation for completion of a PGY-1 at NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue

An in-person interview is required and may include a presentation and/or patient case discussion.

The start date of the PGY-1 program is July 1st of each year unless otherwise specified.
