The Stroke Program at NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln has been recognized for several years in a row for our commitment to providing excellent care to our patients. The Lincoln Stroke Program is a recipient of the American Heart Association’s/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Gold Plus, Target: Stroke Elite Plus, & Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll awards and the hospital has been certified by The Joint Commission as Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center, which means we commit to a higher level of clinical service and excellence in the care of stroke patients.

In 2023, we treated approximately 369 stroke patients. We offer variety of treatments for Acute Ischemic Stroke including ‘clot-busting’ thrombolytic therapy and mechanical thrombectomy, which is a treatment to reopen a vessel that is blocked in a stroke patient using the latest technologies.

We have been a certified Thrombectomy Capable Center since June 2022.  Our team of board-certified stroke neurologists, endovascular neurosurgeons, neurocritical care specialists, emergency medicine physicians, nursing staff and technologists are trained to take care of the most complex cerebrovascular patients. Our clinical staff is backed by support staff who provide care and guidance with resources to all our patients during hospitalization and after discharge to the community.
