Larissa W. Trinder, Assistant Vice President of NYC Health + Hospitals Arts in Medicine

As Assistant Vice President of Arts in Medicine, Larissa Trinder is responsible for stewarding NYC Health + Hospitals’ collection of more than 4000 works of art, the largest such collection in New York City, as well as creating and implementing programs for patients, staff and the community that utilize the arts as a tool in healing. A seasoned professional with more than 20 years in the healthcare field, Larissa has a Master’s degree in Public Policy from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. Before joining H+H, Larissa worked for more than ten years at Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters in Norfolk, Virginia, in philanthropy and creating programs to integrate the arts into the hospital system. She is a staunch advocate for the importance of the arts and humanities within a healthcare system to advance patient health outcomes, enhance staff engagement, morale and retention and to empower communities.

Arts in Medicine Team

Naomi Huth, Director of Art Collection

Naomi curates Arts in Medicine’s visual art collection, with a focus on making artwork accessible to the public though exhibitions and programming throughout NYC. She has previously held curatorial positions at museums and private collections including the Joseph M. Cohen Family Collection, New Museum, and the Rubin Museum. Naomi received her M.A. in Art History and Museum Studies from CUNY City College of New York. Throughout her career in the art world, Naomi has focused on acquiring works by underrepresented artists to improve and diversify art collections.

Monica Mariño, Program Director

Monica Mariño had dedicated her career to making art accessible to a wide range of audiences in museums and educational settings.  She believes in the healing power of the arts and is thrilled to bring her 20 years of experience as an advocate for the arts and educator to healthcare.  As Program Director, Monica will be building upon and growing Arts in Medicine’s suite of programs to foster staff wellness, care across the community, and positive patient outcomes.  Prior to joining H+H, Monica was the Senior Manager of Adult Learning Manager at the Brooklyn Museum, and held full-time positions at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the NYC Department of Education, and served as a freelance educator and consultant for various museums and organizations in New York City and Buenos Aires.

Ashley Arnold, Program Coordinator

Ashley coordinates our Music for the Soul concert series, our HHArt of Medicine observational art sessions and works closely with artists on routine programming and art experiences for our caregivers.

Pat Parker, Administrative Support

Pat supports all our initiatives, helps develop creative branding and is an integral partner in our Community Mural Project.

Arts in Medicine Advisory Council – The Arts in Medicine Advisory Council provides non-binding strategic advice to NYC Health + Hospitals Arts in Medicine department on the provision and delivery of arts for health programs and art collection projects.
