Welcome to the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai/NYC Health and Hospitals (Queens) General Psychiatry Residency Training Program. We are thrilled that you are considering our program as the next step in your career.
Our program is located in Queens, which is known for its rich cultural tapestry, and our patient population reflects this diversity, providing our residents with unparalleled clinical experiences and a deep understanding of various cultural perspectives in healthcare.
Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai/NYC Health and Hospitals (Queens) accepts four residents per class for a total of 16. We treat diverse populations in a multidisciplinary setting that emphasizes collaborative care, team work and a strong commitment to clinical excellence.
Queens will be the primary site for the psychiatry program, and focuses on training outstanding clinicians who are able to practice psychiatry in a variety of settings including community programs, general hospitals, outpatient clinics and integrated behavioral health practices.
Our program provides a full continuum of inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services for adolescents and adults. This comprehensive experience is essential for educating residents in diagnosing, treating, and preventing psychiatric disorders and related medical and neurological conditions. As side from inpatient and outpatient, Queens also offers partial hospitalization, substance use disorder, geriatric, forensic, child and adolescent programs.
Queens partnership with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai offers a wealth of resources and opportunities that residents can explore throughout training.
Wellness and Cultural awareness are principal to our program. All residents have access to an array of mental health resources. We have a commitment to a work-life balance. Resident feedback is highly valued and actively sought to drive program improvement.
Finally, our graduates will achieve a distinguished role as clinicians, educators, and researchers. We appreciate and welcome your interest in our program.
Sincerely,
