I am tremendously proud to have led this organization and humbled to have been able to work side-by-side with so many who share the values to deliver equitable health care and the promise to help all New Yorkers live their healthiest lives.
I step down feeling certain that the work we have accomplished over the last two and half years puts us on solid ground to build a stronger, more efficient and financially sustainable public health care system. I am confident that the talented new team of leaders and the new multi-year reforms we are putting in place will bring about the successful transformation of this essential organization.
I am grateful to our skilled, compassionate and resilient employees for their commitment to drive change, champion quality, protect the mission and serve as the best advocates our patients can ever have on their side. I also thank Mayor de Blasio for giving me the opportunity to serve and for the city’s support of our public health care system.
As I exit, NYC Health + Hospitals will be under the leadership of Interim CEO Stanley Brezenoff, who previously served as NYC Health + Hospitals President, and can provide the experienced leadership necessary to continue moving this essential health system into the future.
