Schneps Media recognized three leaders from NYC Health + Hospitals for its “Power Women of Brooklyn” recognition list for 2026. The honorees are Manjinder Kaur, DNP, FACHE, NEA-BC, Chief Executive Officer of NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health; Sandra Sneed, CEO, MBA, FACHE, Chief Executive Officer, NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull; and Dr. Maggie D. Tetrokalashvili, Chairwoman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health. The recognition honors trailblazing female leaders making an impact in Brooklyn and improving the lives of New Yorkers throughout the city. Manjinder Kaur, DNP, FACHE, NEA-BC, is Chief Executive Officer of NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health, appointed in July 2026 after serving as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Officer. With nearly two decades of leadership experience within NYC Health + Hospitals, she has advanced organizational transformation, operational excellence, quality, workforce development, and financial sustainability.
Throughout her career at South Brooklyn Health, Kaur has led initiatives in hospital operations, clinical expansion, patient flow, quality and safety, and the transition to the Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hospital. She also helped guide the organization through the COVID-19 pandemic and advance specialized services and operational performance.
As CEO, Kaur focuses on community outreach, preventative healthcare, clinical excellence, expanded access, and stronger partnerships. A Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and Nurse Executive Advanced Board Certified, she remains committed to equitable, high-quality care for the patients and communities South Brooklyn Health serves.
Sandra Sneed is CEO of NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull, bringing more than 20 years of senior healthcare leadership experience to the role. Born at NYC Health + Hospitals/Queens, she began her career as an occupational therapist at Bellevue and Kings County before advancing into hospital operations leadership. Most recently, Sneed served as Chief Operating Officer of Memorial Regional Hospital in South Florida, a 700-bed Level I trauma center. There, she helped achieve the highest Maternal Levels of Care certification, reduced Emergency Department inpatient bed wait times by 46%, improved patient flow, and oversaw a 7% increase in surgical volume. Her previous leadership roles include positions at Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital, Howard University Hospital, and Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. Sneed holds a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from Utica College of Syracuse University and an MBA focused on health administration from Oakland University. She is married with three daughters.
Dr. Maggie D. Tetrokalashvili serves as Chairwoman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hospital at South Brooklyn Health, part of NYC Health + Hospitals. With more than 25 years of experience, she specializes in complex gynecologic care, reproductive endocrinology, infertility, and minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery. She completed her residency at Mount Sinai School of Medicine at Queens Hospital Center and a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Case Western Reserve University. Throughout her career, she has held leadership roles including Director of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Director of Gynecology, and Residency Program Director at Nassau University Medical Center. Dr. Tetrokalashvili is Chair of the NYC Health + Hospitals Menopause Committee, an Associate Professor, and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She is dedicated to advancing women’s healthcare, medical education, and innovative surgical techniques while providing compassionate, patient-centered care to diverse communities.
