NYC Health + Hospitals Receives an Additional $12.7 Million in Donations to Support Health Care Workers on the Front Lines of the Covid-19 Pandemic
Goldman Sachs Gives, BNP Paribas, and Advent International – Advent Global Relief Fund among newest donors to support Covid-19 Relief Efforts Campaign All funds raised have been directed to providing support in the form of personal comfort items of meals, groceries, transportation, and clean scrubs for heroic front-line staff

NYC Health + Hospitals, the largest public health care system in the country with 11 hospitals at the heart of the COVID-19 pandemic, has raised a total of $20.9M since it launched its COVID-19 Relief Efforts Campaign last month. The fundraising campaign continues to direct funds to purchase comfort items like meals, groceries, transportation and hotel rooms to support the heroic health care workers on the front line of care to New Yorkers with COVID-19. There has been over 310,000 meals provided for staff across the public health care system through generous donors and the internal meal distribution program.
“When we began this campaign, we wanted to provide as much support as possible to our amazing, heroic work force on the front lines of the pandemic. The response and the support we’ve received from New Yorkers and organizations alike has been overwhelming,” said NYC Health + Hospitals Vice President and Chief Quality Officer Dr. Eric Wei. “We are extremely grateful to those who have donated generously in monetary donations and in-kind valuable goods, and we are equally grateful to the more than 8,800 supporters who have donated to our Network for Good page – many of those are $5 and $10 contributions – every dollar matters to us, and we know those often come with a lot of heart and sacrifice.”

In response to many offers of support, the public health care system created an official way to donate to support the purchase of items that provide personal comfort to employees on the front lines of patient care. Donations can be made through the NYC Health + Hospitals Network for Good fundraising page. Donations for equipment and supplies should be directed to Help Now NYC.
As the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic extends, it becomes more important to provide tangible aid and emotional or psychological relief to staff. Now more than ever, NYC Health + Hospitals will take actions to ensure that the entire workforce feels supported and uplifted. The COVID-19 Relief Efforts Campaign will honor the continued efforts of Helping Healers Heal in directing donations to support wellness items such as stress balls, yoga, recliners, yoga mats, meditation, and aromatherapy for frontline workers. The public health care system aims to foster an immediate sense of hope as well as a profound feeling of personal and professional fulfillment to get health care workers through this pandemic.
