NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln Launches New Pediatric Hospitality Cart to Bring Comfort to Hospitalized Children and Their Families

NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln today announced the official launch of its new Pediatric Hospitality Cart, a mobile care initiative designed to bring comfort and essential amenities directly to the bedsides of young patients and their loved ones. Sponsored by Ronald McDonald House – NY, the Pediatric Hospitality Cart is stocked with an assortment of grab-and-go snacks, refreshing beverages and children’s activity books. The cart will make rounds through the hospital’s pediatric inpatient unit and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
Hospital stays can be a frightening and stressful experience for young children, and long days can take a toll on visiting caregivers. The Pediatric Hospitality Cart will ensure families have access to nourishment and entertainment without having to leave their child’s side. Volunteer will help to prepare and distribute goodies from the cart as it makes its rounds.

Lincoln Hospital offers a full continuum of services to address the health and support care needs of its pediatric population ranging from birth to age 21. This includes a Children’s Health Center, which provides comprehensive primary and specialty care services in a modern and child-friendly environment, a pediatric emergency room available 24-hours daily for emergency care, and a pediatric mental health services program providing outpatient behavioral health services to children ages 5 to 18 and their families. Lincoln Hospital also provides comprehensive health services to adolescents ages 12 to 21 through its nationally recognized Teen Center, which provides an array of services including routine immunizations and preventative care, specialized services, and social supportive services to promote the health and well-being of adolescents. NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln is a New York State-approved, Joint Commission-certified Level III Perinatal Center, offering specialized services to address the complex health needs of high-risk newborns requiring immediate medical care.
