New state-of-the-art MRI suites at NYC Health + Hospitals/Gotham Health, Broadway, offering advanced diagnostic imaging to the community

NYC Health + Hospitals/Gotham Health announced the launch of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) services at its Broadway clinic located at 815 Broadway, Brooklyn, NY. The newly installed MRI suite is equipped with cutting-edge imaging technology, designed to serve a wide range of diagnostic needs, including imaging of the brain, spine, chest abdomen, and upper and lower extremities such as knees, hips and hands. These services can be performed with or without contrast, ensuring versatility in diagnosis and treatment planning.

This addition marks a critical milestone in Gotham Health’s mission to ensure that all patients—regardless of income, immigration or insurance status—can access to the advanced diagnostic tools they need for comprehensive healthcare. This addition is part of Gotham Health’s broader strategy to deliver comprehensive, integrated, and equitable care across its network of sites.

“Introducing MRI services at Gotham Health, Broadway is more than a technological upgrade—it’s a community investment,” said Michelle Lewis, CEO of NYC Health + Hospitals/Gotham Health. “We know that for many of our patients, accessing advanced imaging like an MRI has been a barrier to getting timely care. By bringing this service into our facility, we’re helping remove logistical and financial obstacles that too often delay critical diagnoses and treatment.”

MRI is one of the most effective and safest imaging tools in modern medicine. It uses powerful magnets and radio waves to create detailed images of internal organs, tissues, and bones—without the use of radiation. With high-resolution imaging, MRI allows healthcare providers to detect issues early, make more accurate diagnoses, and tailor treatment plans more effectively.  Timely access to MRI can be the key to early intervention particularly in underserved communities.

MRI services at Gotham Health are now available to both new and existing patients. Referrals can be made directly by Gotham Health providers or accepted from outside providers. Patients with or without insurance are welcome, and care teams are available.
