Crain's 2022 List of "Notable Black Leaders" Recognizes Executives at NYC Health + Hospitals, Community Care, and MetroPlusHealth
System-wide executives, Community Care and MetroPlus leadership honored as part of Black History Month

NYC Health + Hospitals today announced that seven executives throughout the health system have been named to Crain’s 2022 “Notable Black Leaders and Executives” list. Each leader is recognized for their career accomplishments as well as their broad community involvement.

I’ve had a wonderful career thanks to those who mentored, taught, supported, and encouraged me along the way,” said NYC Health + Hospitals Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer Machelle Allen, MD. “The rewards that H+H has given me include the joy of working with this great family of caregivers, the honor of taking care of the most vulnerable of New Yorkers and the privilege of participating in the mentoring of the next generation.”
“I’m honored to be recognized by Crain’s New York as a Notable Black Leader and Executive based on my accomplishments and contributions to society. One of my main objectives is to help the unfortunate, especially the poor, hungry and sick and helping to improve their quality of life and creating opportunities for success,” said NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull Chief Executive Officer Gregory J. Calliste, FACHE. “The healthcare profession has allowed me to make significant contributions in this regard and I hope to accomplish even more in the future as I continue to pursue this goal.
“I am extremely honored to receive this award, representing our 9,600+ front line nurses and nurse leaders who have played a vital role in combating the global pandemic,” said NYC Health + Hospitals Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Executive Natalia Cineas, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, FAAN. “As a system, we are empowering nurses to address the social determinants of health and alleviate devastating health disparities through professional practice, quality and safety initiatives. Together, we are delivering high quality health services with compassion, dignity, and respect to all.”
