NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst staff and Community Advisory Board members celebrate a newly renovated clinic space for its Neurology programs.

NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst today announced the official opening of its newly renovated Neurology Clinic. Located in the hospital’s Community Medical Center at 80-01 41st Avenue on the 2nd Floor (Rm. H2-19), the modernized space, which was renovated for about $160,000, features a patient-friendly redesign that includes larger exam rooms and a more comfortable environment for both patients and caregivers. This expansion increased capacity for several specialty services that will allow more access in Elmhurst Hospital and the surrounding communities.

“We are excited to open this amazing new space to provide crucial services for patients dealing with critical neurological issues,” said NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst CEO Dr. Helen Arteaga-Landaverde. “Providing care in a welcoming environment that adheres to the highest standards of excellence in clinical care aligns with our health equity goals, and ensures that our patients get the care they need and deserve at all times.”

New exam rooms and a waiting area have been designed with the goal of providing a better experience in the Neurology Clinic.

“Today we celebrate more than just a renovation, we celebrate renewed commitment, deeper connection and expanded care,” said NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst’s Deputy Executive Director for Ambulatory Care Administration Amy Harris. “The renovated Neurology area at Elmhurst Hospital is here for our community, bringing advanced, compassionate care to the heart of Queens and ensuring that every patient has access to the support they need, when they need it most.”

“With the new and improved space we can at last unite all the Neurology clinics in one designated area, including General, Botox, Stroke and Endovascular with Epilepsy planned in the coming year,” said NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst Chief of Neurology Dr. Joseph Farraye.
