NYC Health + Hospitals/Carter today celebrated ranking #4 in Newsweek’s list of Best Nursing Homes in New York State. The rankings are based on four critical criteria: performance data, peer recommendations, the handling of the current COVID 19 pandemic and regulatory accreditation. There are over 600 nursing homes in New York State.

“It is a great honor that Carter has earned the #4 ranking on Newsweek’s list of ‘Best Nursing Homes’ out of over 600 nursing homes in New York State,” said Floyd Long, CEO of NYC Health + Hospitals/Carter. “This year’s ranking is our best to date which demonstrates our commitment of excellence in the provision of quality post-acute care services. This would not have been possible without our staff providing compassionate, person centered care and embracing a culture of safety. It is our plan to continue to improve our performance and remain a high-performing organization as we play a vital role in the NYC Health + Hospitals mission.”

“We are grateful for Newsweek’s recognition of Carter Skilled Nursing Facility being top nursing homes in the state for 2023. We congratulate Carter team for their unwavering support and advocacy for the patients that they serve. The commitment is palpable,” said Dr. Khoi Luong, SVP of Post-Acute Care for NYC Health + Hospitals.

“The staff at NYC Health + Hospitals/Carter are the most important people in my recovery. They help me with everything. I like it here,” said Harry Perks, a resident at Carter.
