Modern Healthcare Names Dr. Mitchell Katz One of the 100 Most Influential People in Health Care

Influential weekly publication cites Dr. Katz’s leadership across various NYC Health + Hospital initiatives, including Housing for Health, which connects patients to supportive housing

NYC Health + Hospitals today announced that President and CEO Dr. Mitchell Katz was listed as one of Modern Healthcare’s 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare 2022. Modern Healthcare is the industry voice for health system leaders. Listed at number 40, Dr. Katz was recognized for his leadership on NYC Care, which provides care to over 100,000 people without health insurance; on Housing for Health, the initiative to connect the system’s homeless patients to supportive housing and create 650 new homes in the next 5 years; and on his work turning around the health system’s finances and closing a deficit of nearly $2 billion. The list is voted on by readers of the publication and includes leaders from health systems, retail pharmacies, pharmaceutical companies, government agencies, healthcare advocacy groups, and other major stakeholders in healthcare.
