Christopher Mastromano Is Appointed Chief Executive Officer of NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi

With 30 Years of Health Care Experience, He Will Guide the Hospital's Transformation

May 08, 2017

Bronx, NY

NYC Health + Hospitals announced today that Christopher Mastromano has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi. Mr. Mastromano had been serving as interim executive director, succeeding William Foley, who was promoted to Senior Vice President of Hospitals for the entire health system in February.

Mr. Mastromano brings years of experience in the nation’s largest public system, where he has served as Chief Operating Officer at both NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi and NYC Health + Hospitals/Gouverneur, effectively leading each facility and helping Gouverneur complete a $275 million modernization. Earlier, as Deputy Executive Director for Ambulatory and Emergency Services at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings Country, he oversaw improvements that resulted in over $8 million in savings. He has also served in senior roles at other health care organizations in the New York City area, including Mary Immaculate Hospital in Jamaica and Fidelis Care New York.

“We’re at a challenging point in the health care industry,” said Mr. Mastromano. “We need to transform our services to provide greater convenience to our patients and improve health outcomes. My background centers in patient care, and I know we can achieve greater efficiency and savings, while also providing safe, effective, and high-quality care to those in need.”
Mr. Mastromano looks forward to guiding the hospital through NYC Health + Hospitals’ system-wide transformation and working with community partners to build upon NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi’s position as the trusted choice of care for many Bronx residents.
