MetroPlusHealth Health Plan—joined by representatives from the New York City Police and Fire Departments and other friends and partners of the health plan—hosted the Camp MetroPlusHealth Holiday Reunion, a fun-filled holiday party exclusively for MetroPlusHealth Medicare members. The event was held from noon to 3:00 on December 13, at Brooklyn Borough Hall.

Brooklyn Borough President Eric L. Adams was on hand to offer a warm greeting to the members in attendance, including lessons from his own life on the healing power of love. The event featured wellness activities, health screenings, and safety tips, as well as arts and crafts, food, music, and dancing. Attendees also learned about the health plan’s spring 2019 “Camp MetroPlusHealth.”

The Camp MetroPlusHealth Holiday Reunion is just one of a series of MetroPlusHealth initiatives designed to bring health and wellness services to its members and the community. Those initiatives include Camp MetroPlusHealth, a program launched last summer as part of the health plan’s drive to reduce isolation among seniors. The summer program brought together MetroPlusHealth Medicare members over a period of five weeks to participate in health, wellness, and social activities.
