MetroPlusHealth Health Plan to Open New Community Offices in the Bronx

MetroPlusHealth Health Plan announced today it has opened new community offices in three locations in the Bronx, with official opening festivities planned for later this month and early August. The move represents the first time the health plan has established community offices in that borough.

“We are excited to expand access to our services in the Bronx,” said Seth Diamond, Chief Operating Officer of MetroPlusHealth Health Plan. “While we already count many Bronx residents among our members, bringing health care directly to where New Yorkers live and work is a core part of our mission. Opening up these three community-based offices provides MetroPlusHealth with a great opportunity to further serve the Bronx.”

MetroPlusHealth community offices aim to serve both current members of MetroPlusHealth and others who may be considering joining the plan. At these offices, members and potential members get questions answered about benefits and services. Staff can also facilitate health plan enrollment—or annual renewals for current MetroPlusHealth members. Community offices also offer health screenings, partner with community organizations to conduct enrollment for the SNAP (Food Stamp) program, and host other events that allow individuals to improve their health and wellness.

The three sites are conveniently located at street level in the Bronx, with easy subway and bus service access:

The MetroPlusHealth Bronx community offices offer support in English and Spanish, as well as other languages when needed.

Each office will host opening ceremony festivities for the community, with health screenings, light refreshments, music, face painting and other children’s entertainment, and more. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.
