Knowing the delicate nature of oral surgery, Head Nurse Maria Luisa Patria takes extra care with patients who come for dental extractions.
“We all take our time to help the patients and believe in going above and beyond,” she says.
“It is really important to listen to the patients and take in what they are saying,” says Patria. “I want the patients and their families to know how much I respect them.”
Patria says she was inspired at a young age to pursue a career in nursing. “My family made me want to become a nurse,” she recalls. “My sister is a nurse and I look up to her. It’s something that’s in your heart; I want to help people.”
Teamwork is a core value for Maria Luisa Patria, who has dedicated herself to cooperating with patients, co-workers and physicians to cultivate a collaborative, productive and welcoming health care environment.
She also takes time to keep herself and her team up-to-date on the newest developments and technologies to ensure the highest level of patient care.
“I believe in being truthful to myself and others,” she explains. “I implement these values in my day-to-day activities with fairness and concern for all those around me, including patients, their families and my co-workers.”
