“Today, we hosted a ribbon-cutting to mark the completion of the first 20 of 120 temporary ICU beds at NYC Health + Hospitals/North Central Bronx to help manage the surge of COVID-19 patients and to triple ICU bed capacity in the public hospital system’s response to the pandemic. We are on track to complete this project by the end of May thanks to the incredible partnership between private sector companies and our great public institutions. We’re proud to be able to provide these incredibly important services at this critical moment in our City’s history. The heroic health care workers at NYC Health + Hospitals/North Central Bronx stand ready in the face of this crisis and continue to rise to the challenge to care for New Yorkers with COVID-19 who continue to need intensive care.”
