Ana E. Marengo is Senior Vice President of Communications and Marketing and an Officer of the Board at NYC Health + Hospitals. In this role, Ms. Marengo serves as a senior advisor to the NYC Health + Hospitals President and CEO, and health system leadership staff. She directs internal and external communications efforts, including news media relations, marketing and advertising, website management, social media and employee communications. Ms. Marengo’s accomplishments at NYC Health + Hospitals include major positive news placements in national and local media, the strategic communications plan to launch the NYC Care program, and numerous crisis communications efforts to support the health system’s response to Super storm Sandy, Ebola and COVID-19. She executed the health system’s rebranding campaign that for the first time in the organization’s history aligned more than 70+ patient care facilities under one visual identify and brand message. Ms. Marengo launched the health system’s first social media presence which now includes five major social platforms and more than a dozen hospital-specific social media pages. Her team was also responsible for launching a new redesigned website, a weekly employee e-newsletter, and executed a number of high-impact, low-cost, multi-language health awareness and advertising campaigns. Ms. Marengo has more than 30 years of experience as a communications executive and brand strategist. Before joining the public health care system in 2006, she served as communications and press strategist for a number of non-profit organizations and elected officials. She was Vice President of Media Relations at the American Cancer Society- Eastern Division, Media Relations Manager for the United Federation of Teachers, Director of Media Relations at the United Way of NYC, Assistant Press Secretary to Mayor David N. Dinkins, Assistant Press Secretary to NYC Public Advocate Mark Green, and Public Information Officer for the New York City Council Office of the Majority Leader Peter F. Vallone. Ms. Marengo attended Rutgers University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications.
