What is the general call schedule?

Generally one 24-hour call every 4 days on average. Please be reassured that the program complies with all regulations surrounding resident hours.

Can residents change their mentor?

Yes, with the agreement of the Program Director.

Do I need to take Step 3 before starting residency?

For H1B visas, yes. Note: We require you to take USMLE Step 3 during your first year of residency. NYMC requires you to pass Step 3 prior to signing a contract as a 3rd year resident.

Do you conduct virtual or in-person interviews?

We will only conduct virtual interviews to provide equitable access to all selected candidates. Only applications received through the Electronic Residency Application Services (ERAS) will be considered for interview.

Does the program participate in the National Residency Match Program?

Yes, the program participates in the NRMP.
