A Direct Link to the Community
Community Advisory Boards (CABs) are the formal and direct links between each NYC Health + Hospitals facility and its patients and local advocates. The CAB members contribute to planning, program development, and service delivery. Members also provide invaluable advocacy and advice from the local community perspective.
All of the meetings of each CAB are open to the public. Community members are encouraged to contact their local CAB office to inquire about the scheduled meetings or to address issues and concerns to the CAB.

Jacqueline Narine
Community Advisory Board ChairpersonNYC Health + Hospitals/Gotham Health, Cumberland
Jacqueline V. Narine a born and bred Brooklynite, retired from New York City Health + Hospitals after 33 years of impactful service. She brings a rare blend of institutional expertise and grassroots advocacy to her dual leadership roles as Chair of the NYC Health + Hospitals/Gotham Health Board of Directors and Chair of the NYC Health + Hospitals/Gotham Health, Cumberland Community Advisory Board (CAB).
During her tenure at NYC Health + Hospitals, Jacqueline rose through the ranks gaining a wealth of healthcare administration, operations, and community relations experience. She started as a Hospital Care Investigator, then became a Systems Analyst, and later an Assistant Director for Clinical Operations, overseeing network-wide functions and responsibilities across North Brooklyn Health Network.
Her final pre-retirement assignment as Liaison to the Cumberland CAB bridged her administrative career with community service. In this capacity, she also built working relationships with the Auxiliary Board and the Reach Out and Read Program of Greater New York, advocating for community members of all ages to have access to the care and support services they deserve.
Following her retirement, she became Chair of the Cumberland CAB and successfully secured capital funding from then-NYC Council Majority Leader Laurie A. Cumbo. Her unique trajectory from internal operations to community advocacy uniquely equips Jacqueline to lead Gotham Health/Cumberland’s CAB with both strategic vision and deep community accountability.
