Ms. Villanueva was promoted to Senior Vice President for Human Resources in March 2021. She has oversight of workforce planning, talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, civil service administration, policy development, employee recognition programs, workers compensation, leave of absence administration, records management, employee safety, HR Information Systems, Shared Services, training, Diversity and Inclusion, workforce development, volunteers program, and Language Assistance Medical Interpreters strategy.

While at Health + Hospitals she has held several progressive senior leadership roles overseeing human resources, volunteers, patient relations, workers compensation, labor relations, employee safety, FMLA, training, EEO, graduate medical education and medical interpreters. She held the position of Senior Associate Executive Director, Human Resources for Lincoln Medical Center, Morrisania, Segundo Belvis, Renaissance Health Care, Harlem Hospital Center, and Woodhull Medical Center, while serving the upper Manhattan, Bronx, Williamsburg and Greenpoint communities.

Under Ms. Villanueva’s leadership, the system has received several awards such as the Training Top 125 (2017), Brandon Hall Excellence in Learning Award (2019), Leader in LGBTQ Healthcare Equality, Adam Solomon Award by Tanenbaum (2019), 2019 National Association of Government Defined Contribution Administrators Leadership Award, 2020 Eddy Award by Pension & Investment, and Crain’s NY Business 2020 Notable Women in Talent Resources.

During her tenure, as a senior leader at H+H, Ms. Villanueva has strengthened the role of Human Resources by partnering with management and our labor partners, expanding Employee Self Service, rolling out the Equity and Inclusion strategy, identifying Workforce Training opportunities, and implementing shared services. We continue to standardized processes across the system, work with our internal partners to improve employee engagement, and support the strategic goals of the organization
Ms. Villanueva has a master’s degree in Personnel Psychology from New York University and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Hunter College.
