WIC Program

Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem helps families live their healthiest and best life. WIC is a federally funded Special Supplemental Nutrition Program that is free to eligible individuals and families. Our dedicated and friendly support staff will help determine if you are eligible for this free program.

Once enrolled, our caring nutritionists will provide you with quality health and nutrition counseling, breastfeeding education and support, as well as a healthy food package tailored to meet the needs of you and your family. We offer individual and group sessions focusing on topics such as healthy eating, meal preparation, food safety, breastfeeding, physical activity, and smart shopping.

The monthly supplemental food package includes a variety of nutritious foods such as fruits and vegetables, milk, cheese, eggs, yogurt, bread, formula, and baby food that can be accessed easily using an eWIC food benefit card. Our nutritionists will help you with ideas to incorporate more fruits and vegetables, make healthier food choices, and help guide you in fueling your family in the best way possible.

In addition to counseling and support, we provide referrals to other services in the community. We are an excellent resource to help you with medical and health care needs for your family and for other food assistance.
